Hi,

I found the following mail-archive about authentication login/password
through proxy in OpenOffice:

I'm facing the same problem that described:

I would like to get geocode by web service Google API, my macro works at
home (without proxy) but not at work (through proxy).

At work (Windows 7, LibO 4.0.5.2) , when I launch my macro, LibO freeze
any seconds and replay "Error 1: Une exception s'est produite : Type:
com.sun.star.ucb.InteractiveNetworkConnectException Message: . (line :
194)"

I guess that is a problem with the proxy...

Firefox have access to Internet. I have configured OpenOffice proxy on
MANUAL and after that on SYSTEM, I can not set login/password for
authentication.

I unfortunately have nothing found about this on internet. Does somebody
can help me ?

Not entirely sure if this will work, but try:

- In LibreOffice menu Tools > Options > Internet > Proxy, set "Proxy server" to "System" (I guess this is what you've tried above). This tells LibreOffice to use the system proxy settings.

- To check/set the system proxy settings, in Windows' Control Panel (Start > Control Panel) find the Internet Options (it's probably easier to find with the control panel in Classic View rather than category view). On the Connections tab, click "LAN settings" and ensure your proxy is set up there.

- Open Internet Explorer (which always uses the system proxy settings; Firefox may or may not depending how its configured). Navigate to a random web site (e.g. www.google.com) and enter any passwords needed for the proxy. This is often enough to open up the proxy for other applications to use.

- Now try accessing the web service from LibreOffice.

Another possibility is that the service is blocked by your proxy. Are you able to access it from work through any other means to test? e.g. another application, by manually connecting to it (if you know what you're doing and it uses a plain-text protocol, you can connect a telnet session via "telnet <address> <port>" from a command prompt, and then type the requests and see if you get a response back).

It may be worth asking your IT department what you might need to do to get through their proxy; the rest of us can only guess at how it might be configured. Some are more aggressive than others in blocking certain types of traffic.

Mark.
