Yes, I have seen many lists/forums that are threaded, some good and
some bad.

Browser based lists/forums, not email based lists.

Nabble is browser based, while I use the email based list for LO.

I do not remember ever seeing a email based list that worked, and a good threading/grouping system for any of the email clients I have used.
