Hi Starlight,

If there are no fixed documented limits, are there any known practical
limits for a large text-only book?

I don't know anything about fixed document limits. But I'm using master document for creating German Base Guide. There are 13 subdocuments. I only only load the main section of this subdocuments.

The whole document counts over 700 pages. Many screenshots …
Subdocument for macros is the document with most characters and about 160 pages.

A text only book without special formatting (see the chapter for macros in Base Guide) could contain much more than what I need for the Base Guide.

You could test this with a small document, copying and pasting so it will get about 200 pages. Copy this document with different names in the same folder. Create a master document and connect all this document in the master document. Think it will run without any problem for thousands of pages.

Regards

Robert
