Hello,
I hope this is the proper list for asking that kind of question.
The French language package for LibreOffice 26.8.0 on the Mac (macOS 27.0 Beta, ARM chip) requests
admin authentication in order to proceed (screenshot below).
This is new, I never experienced that with any of the previous LibreOffice versions. Is this
normal, or should I be worried (ie hijacked installer)?
To be sure, I tried the two on the very same Mac:
- Install LibreOffice 26.2.5 inside /Applications, open it then quit, install the French language
pack for 26.2.5.
- Delete LibreOffice 26.2.5.
- Install LibreOffice 26.8.0 inside /Applications, open it then quit, install the French language
pack for 26.8.0.
For 26.2.5, no admin authentication is requested at any stage of the process. For 26.8.0, admin
authentication is requested by the French language pack; one authenticated, the installation
proceeds.
