I don't know whether anybody will read this email.  I've been a Libreoffice user almost since it was first released, and for a long time I tried to help others when I could.  Just before Christmas I had a crash on my mac and had to reinstall everything.  The Mac is an old one so I'm still using Catalina.

Now, I can open Writer to write a document, but when I want to save it, I get up the picture in the enclosed screen shot, and I haven't a clue how to use it.  I want to be able to just specify where I want it, and press Save.  I would also be willing to save everything to my desktop and drag and drop documents where I want them from there.  But what am I supposed to do with all the optional save places on the enclosed screen shot?  And how do I find the document when it has presumably been saved.

If you see this email, drop me a line at james@sunde-wilde.se and try to explain.  Is there an easier Save screen which I could use. The last thing I want to do is to try and find another writer program as I'm not sure how that would handle all my existing files.

I hope this letter reaches the help system at Libreoffice.  I'll know if someone sends me an email.

James Wilde
