This is a problem that seems to have popped up now and then through the years, but even after going
through years of suggestions I'm not finding a working solution.
Sometime in the past month LO updated itself on my PC (or at least pretended to; it's still on
v25.2.1.2 -- but there was a screen visible for a brief time that said it was updating) and now
when I export to PDF the italic font isn't exporting. This is the Liberation Serif typeface, and
the non-italic version has no issues. This happened several months ago and I found that I didn't
have the Archival box checked. I do now, but no matter which of the three PDF/A versions I choose
I get the message "Cannot extract the embedded font 'DAAAAA+LiberationSerif-Italic'. Some
characters may not display or print correctly."
The message actually comes from Adobe Acrobat (Reader), so I'm not sure it's an LO problem, but I
do this particular conversion at least once a month. LO has been updated in the intervening
period, Acrobat Reader had not. I just updated Reader, but no joy.
I'm still researching, but any troubleshooting ideas? If I get desperate I can print the document
and then scan it, but I'd prefer to figure out why the export is failing and how I can fix it.
