Hi John,

I thought I had previously been able to rename a data range, but can't
see where/how to do that.
I can do Define Range, select the range, hit Modify - but then nothing
happens, as the range seems to be immediately deselected by hitting
Modify. Can someone help me see the solution?
Instead of renaming, do I need to just define a new range and delete the
old range, or can I rename the old range?
It is currently not possible to rename a database range. The request for
it is in https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=162319
The only way I see for you is to edit the file source itself. The name
itself is in an element <table:database-range> in sub-file content.xml.
But you also need to exchange it in all formulas that use the name.
Delete and new is not a good solution because you will lose all sort and
filter settings associated with the database range.
Kind regards,
Regina
