Hi Ronald,
the behavior might depend on your operating system and the settings
there. You should tell these.
In general, there are new setting options in Tools > Options >
LibreOffice > Appearance. LibreOffice Themes has the options
"Automatic", "Light" and "Dark". If "Automatic" does not work for you,
perhaps try "Light"?
