If I enter =A1:C1 in any cell in columns A-C it shows TRUE, but by clearing the cell formatting I
can see that the actual return value is the column index (A=1).
This helps me see what is happening. The range is actually being resolved to the value of the cell
in the same column as the formula (which just happens to match the index in the case). Change the
first cells to 4, 5, and 6 instead of 1, 2, and 3 to test.
Because the formula doesn't error and does return a value, it took a while to find the bug in my
original sheet. I assumed like many formulas, it would also accept a range (e.g. SUM). Perhaps it
should just error when a range is given? It seems like almost all other formulas that are meant for
a single value do the same.
Did find this option that might work.
=IF(COUNT(A1:C1) = COUNTA(A1:C1), 1, 0)
Something similar to this seems to be working for my use case. Definitely more succinct than using
AND and many ISNUMBER as I was.
Appreciate the help.
