UNOFFICIAL
Hi there
A Kaspersky dialogue came up on my laptop today. It asked me to restart the computer, presumably to
activate a patch that you have distributed. I did that but when the computer had started I noticed
that my LibreOffice icon had disappeared from the taskbar. This has happened before with MS patches
and the fix has simply been to find the software and pin it to the taskbar once more. Annoying but
easy to do.
However, your patch was different. That didn't work.
I went to the Control Panel, selected LibreOffice, then repair. I was hoping that by doing that any
folders your patch had changed would be reset to the correct locations. The repair function failed
because it couldn't find the installation folder or some file within it.
I couldn't see an easy solution other than to remove LibreOffice, then reinstall it following a
fresh download (I had been using 24.2.6.2 and am now downloading 24.8.1.2).
In any future updates/patches/installations can you please take account of software already
installed. If you believe you are already doing this, then please contact the LibreOffice
developers and find out where things are going wrong. Either you, LibreOffice, or both need to
change something so that future patch installations are easier on your clients.
Kind regards, Ron
