I have no idea what "Skia" is and seen this the first time.
Now I have to wait and see how LO works for a day or so.

Unfortunately, it does NOT speed up the very slow display of typed 
characters.
Having to wait for the screen to display what the fingers typed 5 
minutes (exaggerated!) ago is maddening.
