If you don't want these in the target document, the easy way is to use Edit | Paste Special... (or Ctrl+Shift+V) instead of ordinary Paste, selecting "Unformatted text" in the Paste Special dialogue.
Or Ctrl+Alt+Shift+V to paste unformatted text directly - bypassing any dialogue.
