I am wondering if it is possible to change or customize the
LibreOffice Writer side bar by adding in more features?
Dunno.
Specifically I would like to have the HIDDEN character option in the
Sidebar (it is currently found in the *Format | Character | Font
Effect* window: ...
Two thoughts:
o The Character section of the Properties panel (of the sidebar) has
a (very small) More Options button at the right. That brings up the
Character dialogue that you need, and may be a more convenient way of
invoking it than through the Format menu.
o One of the panels available in the sidebar is Styles and
Formatting. If you create a character style for "hidden" (which is
probably good practice anyway), that would be easily available there.
I trust this helps.
