[libreoffice-users] does freeze row in Calc work?

I can't get Calc to freeze the heading row in any spreadsheet. Downloaded and installed the latest 5.1.3 Windows version yesterday and it still isn't happening, either from the option in the View menu or the toolbar icon. Click on the row number (1), then the menu/toolbar option, then scroll down. The top row scrolls off the screen .
