Graham's right of course. In fact, it takes less than a minute to find the information in the online release notes.
BUT - I do have to sympathise with the OP's situation; things really shouldn't move around like this without warning the hapless user. Zero-order solution: how about a simple link from the 'Help' menu to the release notes, plus a popup on first running a new version to remind the user?
