Hi Andreas,
Thanks for your reply - actually it was an error in my Dragon listing that I
didn't pick up! 
 It was/is Libre OpenOffice and the Version 5 is broken on a few points
apparently - the most important one for me being that it works with Dragon -
which it doesn't.

I'm actually trying to go back a couple of versions to see if it recovers,
but despite having tried it the installer simply refuses on the grounds that
there is a later version installed! 

I have deleted it to day and it still insists that there is a later version
