On Mac OS X there still is Format -> Styles and Formatting (Cmd-T).
The menu does NOT work, even though it is listed under "Format" AND there is an icon top left side. It ONLY works if you "undock" the side bar, which has to be done EVERY time you start LibreOffice.

To me that qualifies as a bug!
(and definitely makes me want to go back a version or two)

Or am I missing something important here?
