Would a table do what you wish?
BTW - copying/pasting from Word won't work since MSFT continually
sets their own coding to be non compatible with others ;-(

Subject: [libreoffice-users] Check (tick) box.
To: "users@global.libreoffice.org" <users@global.libreoffice.org>
Hi.
Is there a way to add a check box (click it and a tick or x appears, click
it again and it becomes empty) to a writer document. This does not need to
be a form.
Word has these and they work in LO when I open the word doc but I can't
copy paste one to a writer document.
Form controls are not easy to use keep crashing my LO 4.3 when I change the
anchor method so I don't know how robust that option is.
Cheers,
Steve
