To All,

Thank you for the replies. Now I know there is nothing wrong with my computer.

(LO, Windows 7 Professional. Yes I forgot to include that in my original post. Sorry.)

Hi :)
Comments to bug-reports should include new information such as version of
Windows and/or version of LO that hasn't already been included in previous
posts. Otherwise it only increases ire.

I didn't realise the issue was that common. It's the first time i've seen
anyone mention it on this mailing list as far as i remember. I might well
have missed it earlier though.
Regards from
Tom :)

Does anyone else have this problem and is there a solution?

When I double click on a writer or calc file it opens behind the
windows explorer window that I double clicked in.

I'll explain this another way in case that's not clear. Say I have a
folder open on my screen with some .odt and .ods files in it. If I
double click on a file to open it, it will open behind the folder that
contains the file I clicked on.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

Is there a solution?

Yes Bill, I know exactly what you are talking about. I have seen and
used numerous Windows and Linux machines where opening the LO does not
grab the focus in the same way as most other programs do. A LO defect I
have simply learned to live with.

There are at least 2 open Bugzilla related reports:
Some argue that they are different issues, I disagree, because it is
only the splash logo that pulls the focus to the LO window, with the
"-nologo" parameter set or for second instances where LO doesn't already
hold the focus, the code makes no attempt to set the window focus.
Coding to set the the window focus under Windows & Linux (don't know
OSX) is "Programming 101" stuff and should be listed as an "Easy Hack".
It has been suggested that this _might_ be fixed in version 4.5, but not
in any the dev builds I have tested so far.

Is there a solution? None that I am aware of, but adding a comment to
one or both the above report may help to attract a developer's interest.
