Actually the correct registry key would be "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\.bmp\OpenWithProgids" and LibreOffice would lay down a string value of "LibreOffice.Bmp". On a fully integrated installation on Windows that value allows the LibreOffice Draw module to open a .bmp from Windows Explorer shell using the open with dialog.
