Hi :)
I'm not sure why downloading doesn't work. It should work quite
happily without making a donation.
The already-installed version should also be working but what "should
be" and "what is" are often completely different things.

Many of us remember the days when reinstalling used to be the best way
"to get back to factory defaults" but things have changed quite a bit
in order to cope with more frequent updates/upgrades/reinstalls and
generally increase flexibility. It was always tiresome to try to
tweak a fresh new install to behave the way the old faithful system
worked and so a lot of us resented having to use a newer system
despite it's advantages. To get around that problem many programs now
keep the settings and configurations separately from the program
files. So now when you install a new version of Chrome or Firefox or
LibreOffice/OpenOffice it keeps behaving much the same as your
previous version.

The upshot of all this is that to "return to factory defaults" is
actually MUCH easier these days. You don't need to reinstall or
upgrade anything.  Simply rename the "User Profile";

This tends to 'magically' fix a huge variety of weird problems that
suddenly start happening. Hopefully it might work for you. Please
let us know how it goes
Good luck and regards from
Tom :)

Please can you help a 68 yo silver surfer?
I have the use of Libre Office at work, so a new PC has had
it loaded.
It now will not open any "Libre" documents, write/calc
anything.
I did manage to load vers. 5, this has also dropped out.
I have tried to re-install several times, twice donating via
PayPal.
It keeps saying "download was interrupted".
I am desperate to work using Libre Office but confused by
jargon/web-sites/ ets.

Can you help please?
