Hello Tom,

I'm glad you forwarded this email. Actually we are always looking for more tips. If people are not on Twitter it's all right really. They can just use the pad (the URL you just listed), scroll down and add their own after the existing ones. Don't delete anything as every (valid) tip will be used! A tip really is a short solution statement on how to do this or that on any of the parts of LibreOffice. It is exclusively user-oriented.

Thanks,

Charles.

Hi :)
We have a tweet thing and hashtips or something. I thought some people
here might be interested in joining in. Also several people from here did get involved when it all started so it might be nice to revisit and if it's
grown and how it looks now.

http://pad.documentfoundation.org/p/marketing

That is quite an intriguing page to visit anyway. You don't have to
register and you can just start typing straight away without doing any
security anything. It's really unnerving!

It has just occurred to me that some of the threads might "boil down to" neat little tips of under however few words you get in a tweet. Is it 160 characters including spaces and tags? A lot of our discussions ramble all
over the place and deal with multiple different issues but somewhere in
amongst all that i think some interesting idea and tips shine through. So if anyone manages to do anything like that then they might make a lot of
good tips.

Regards from
Tom :)

Hi,

1- Currently we share LibreOffice tips on @libreoffice twitter account
on weekly bais with #tipsoftheweek (14 char.) hashtag.

For more circulation of the tips and user interaction - user based
tips production, i suggest that we could ask users to share their own tips with a unique hashtag #LibreOfficeTips (16 char and its unique -
no tweets yet) .

With this unique hashtag, we can collect lots of tips from users.

I have a script -didn't used it by myself, but i know the guys who
wrote them and they will be glad to help us), which collects tweets
with particular hashtags, which we can use it to harvest the tweets
later.

In addition to above, this hashtag on circulation will increase our
brand awareness too.

Yes indeed.

Also we can do it on Google+ which supoorts hashtags too.

+1. Let's do that starting tomorrow on Twitter at least!

We can start a campaign from @LibreOffice account something like:

A) "Your knowledge is valuable, want to share it with others? Start
sharing your LibreOffice skills with #LibreOfficeTips hashtag."

and

B) "Sharing is caring, help us to spread the useful #LibreOfficeTips
by retweeting the tweets with #LibreOfficeTips hashtag."

I'm not taking care of that, but it's a great idea :)

+1

2- Currently we have 286 tips on
http://pad.documentfoundation.org/p/marketing . I think it is time to move them wiki and start to translate this life/time/mind saving great
content to our local pages. Or what about moving them to Pootle?

All the tips should go to the FAQ if it's not already there. What goes
on the wiki don't go on Pootle (well, except for the Help which is a
different process), it's much more simple to pick an article and
translate it straight in the wiki.

Thanks!

Charles.

Thanks a lot for your feedback :)
Kind regards
