Hello,
You can see the account to which the mails are being send (the same that subscribed the list) if
you analyse the source of a message that you receive from the list.
To get the source of a mail is program-dependent:
Apple Mail: Menu Presentation -> Message -> Raw content
Thunderbird: Display -> Source code of the message (U)

Exactly. Which is why I was careful to mention "from the accounts that
the messages appear to be coming to", as detailed in the "how to
unsubscribe" web page.
I imagine you're right in thinking that this may be linked to the
cause, but trying to get the right account doesn't seem to be working.
