It's been accidentally omitted I would guess, as I've noticed the same
thing.
As I stated, I like to have that "generic" launcher on my desktop
screen and the top panel. If it is no longer available, then I will
have to "live without it".

Why not just create it - as I did - rather than "live without it"?
