Hi :)
I think it does remember but it would be worth doing the custom install and checking that it does.
Also when you uninstall any version the configurations and settings are all still kept in your User
Profile so when you install again it picks up all your previous settings. The uninsall-reinstall
route does not "go back to factory defaults".
It is pretty smart to make a back-up copy of your User Profile fairly often so that it's easy for
you to get back to settings that you do like if/when something odd happens (such as installing a
new Extension messes things up forcing you to rename your User Profile or you just find that weird
things have started happening without really knowing why).

Note that other OpenSource programs such as Firefox, Gimp (and even some proprietary programs
nowadays) use the User Profile idea in order to allow people to upgrade (or go back to older
versions) much more easily.
Regards from
Tom :)

Subject: [libreoffice-users] Installation options are remembered?
Hello,
I have read that to install a new version of LibreOffice, it is not
necessary to uninstall the previous one. I can install "over" the
previous. I am currently using version 4.0.1.2 (and am new to
LibreOffice, I never used older versions).
I would like to know if during installation of the new version, the
installation settings of the previous one will be "remembered".
I mean: when installing LibreOffice I chose to not install Base, and
also changed other installation options; do I have to do this changes
each time I install a new version?
Shall I choose to install with default options (in case the options from
the previous installation will be remembered), or shall I do a custom
install, and manually do all changes again?
I want to make sure that Base does not get installed, and possibly to
keep all settings (both installation and program settings).
Thanks.
Thomas
