a poll vs. an official poll ;-)

Hi :)
I don't remember there ever being a poll about how the lists work. We
were suddenly just told that it would change and asked to give it a fair go
and then make comments later. Does anyone know how to set-up a poll?

The one on LinuxQuestions seemed to get a lot of votes but it's a bit of a
specialist site that Mac and Windows users probably don't go to at all.
Also the popular poll was about a contentious issue that gets hotly
debated across all different distros. Something about the inner-workings
of the LibreOffice community might be a bit outside the box for them.

Tom :)

seems as if we might have been in the majority, yet were
vetoed ;-)

Strangest list set-up of any I've been/am on, you?
maybe it could be 6 months on - 6 months off ;-)

Hi :)
It might be worth writing to the board-discuss list to let them know you
are not happy with the way replies to the list work. You are not alone in
that!

Congrats about fixing your problem tho! A tad weird but good to know you
fixed it. Nicely done! :)
Congrats and regards from
Tom :)

Hi All.

I had responded, but failed to "reply-all" that is usually automatic with
mailing lists. In any event it did not happen. Here is my response, sent to
Dries Feys only but intended for all of you kind folks.

I installed the MS Excel Viewer, and now the file opens flawlessly. I
have NO idea why.

With Warmest Regards

HI Dries, and Stuart, and others:

I just tried it again, and it opens "flawlessly" with the latest stable
LO Version 3.6.5.2 (Build ID: 5b93205) on my Windows 7, 64 bit system.
I wonder what the heck was wrong. The only thing I did in the interim
was to fetch the MS Excel Viewer. I wonder if something came with that
that enabled LO, a font or something that enabled LO.
Many thanks for prompt response.
Warmest Regard
David Teague

David,

This works just fine with LO 4. Of course, there might be other issues.

Met vriendelijke groeten, Salutations distinguées, Kind Regards,
