Hi :)
Have you changed the "Anchor Point" and "Wrap" options to various different things to try to find
the one combination that does suit you?
Both options are on the right-click menu but it's better to choose "Frame" or "Image" from that
menu and then use the various tabs to explore a ton of options with a lot more finesse. I would
guess that you have already tried this but it's worth checking jic the documentation you were
looking at didn't cover it.
Btw what documentation are you using? Are you using the in-built or wiki help or are you using the
published guides from here?
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Documentation/Publications
or from the official LibreOffice website.
Also how are you creating the decorative text? I think i would try doing something in Draw or else
use frames in Writer itself. I've not tried either way but knowing how you tried it might help
other people answer your question. Thanks for letting us know it's LO 3.6.4 on Windows (Xp).
Regards from
Tom :)

Subject: [libreoffice-users] image and text wrap
Good evening
Using Windows XP, LO 3.6.4
I wrote a somewhat lengthy text, which I now would like to "decorate"
with a number of images.
However, so far all efforts to make the text wrap around the image have
failed.
I read the documentation and (hopefully) followed the instructions, but
nevertheless the image ALWAYS,
regardless of what alignment of wrap option I select, stays on top of
the text = covering it.
When I try to shift the image a little further up, down, left or right
... a caption supposed to be attached to that image
too jumps around widly and occasionally turns up on the other side of
the page from the image.
Isthere a trick to make these things behave a little more orderly?
Thank you in advance.
Thomas
