I'm not sure why you think there should be an icon since there isn't one.
For an envelope click on "Insert", then select "Envelope" from the drop down menu.
That will bring up a dialog box where you can enter the address information.

I did what you said. I got my letter that I was requesting. However, I still do
not know how to find the icon ENVELOPE. I went to the FILE and thumbed down to
Print. I was hoping that the envelope in the printer would be all that was
necessary but it did not print as it should for an envelope. Please help. I
admit I am plain stupid when it comes to computers but even though I am 85 years
old, do manage eventually.
