Hello everybody, new to this list.

I use :
LibreOffice 3.5.2.2
Version ID : 350m1(Build:202)

The package was compiled for Slackware '32 bit) by Eric Hameleers.

When I hit F11 or choose "Format=>Styles and formatting" in the menu, LO crashes.

When I launch LO again, after recovery of the files that were open the "Styles and formatting
dialog" is displayed.

Any clue ? I didn't find this bug in this lists's archive and do not know how to access the
bug tracking system.

Didier

I use the Debian package from the LO website, and I don't have that
problem for 3.4.6 nor 3.5.2. It is possible that when Hameleers compiled
Slackware's version that this bug was introduced. You might want to
mention the problem to Slackware. They may need to make some changes in
their compiled version.
One possible solution is to remove the Slackware version and
install the LO version. (You would probably need to get the RPM package
if that is what Slackware uses.)

Dan, thanks for your fast answer

Not sure that it be Slackware specific though, as I just saw that this bug
has been reported already, see https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45288
(and sorry, yes, I should have checked that first)

Didier

And thank you for the link. When I read the bug report, I noticed a
common feature of it and your problem: the software was compiled. I have
been using LO 3.5 from 3.5.0 through 3.5.2 from the LO website without
having a problem even though the first thing I do is dock the Styles and
Formatting window to the left side of the LO window. (I extensively use
styles.)
My experience of LO 3.5.x is on both a 32 bit and 64 bit Ubuntu
computers. One of the things I first noticed going back to OOo 2.x
version was that others were having problems with OOo bugs that were
added when various Linux distributions compiled their own version. We
all had problems with OOo bugs from the OOo website too: they were just
different bugs.
