        Thanks for you help. The problem is I have been able to open the zip file and inside 
see what appears to be "print-ranges" being set in the content.xml file. I have no idea if this is 
the correct file it saves to or is in the proper format. I just know when I define a print range 
there is an entry made in this file and when Libreoffice loses the print range and I save this 
setting is no longer there.

        I guess my next step is to file a bug report and hope I can get some one who does 
know to look at the spreadsheet and hopefully tell me why the print range is getting lost. 
Openoffice may have been stalled but so far or companies have not been able to convert to 
Libreoffice because of the problems in the calc program. Which is to bad because from what 
I can tell Libreoffice is faster and has some improvements that make it better to work with.
