It depends on format of your text. If "cells" are delimited by certain string,
it should be quite easy.
Please try Table → Convert → Text to Table… on selected text. You can read
about it on LO wiki, but I think most options are pretty straightforward:

Table Convert was introduced in LO 3.4, if I recall correctly. You may need to
update.
