It is possible but it's not trivial.  There is a guide that can help
http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Installing_in_parallel
but it's really written for 2 versions of LibreOffice so you'll have to adapt it a little.  

The main problems seem to only occur when you are actively running both at the same time (unless 
you follow the guide) but having the "Quickstarter" on in either program counts as having it 
running.
