Hi :)
I think you can install straight over the top but keep the installer in case
that doesn't work.  I would createa  back-up copy of the user-profile /
config folder before starting something like this and copy it to somewhere
safe.

In Gnu&Linux the config folder is usually
/home/username/.libreoffice/3/user
I would back-up the hidden folder ".libreoffice" or the "3" to make sure of
getting everything.  I've not yet needed the back-up but that's probably
Murphy's Law acting in my favour.  ie if you don't make a back-up you will
need it but if you do then you wont need it and will have wasted your time
making the back-up ;)  I'm not entirely certain that's the normal
interpretation of Murphy's Law but it seems to work.
