Yes, there's the "Use system font for user interface" checkbox, though I didn't see any perceivable
difference regardless of whether this checkbox is checked or not.
Other apps on my PC (I'm running Debian), for example Firefox/Iceweasel, certainly use a lighter
shade of gray for background.
