The nasties that can come with ActiveX is a big reason that many people moved to Firefox as their default browser over IE. There are ways to help use IE and not have those nasties mess with your system, but it is just easier to use Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Sahara, or some other non-IE browser on Windows.

I have to check if I have installed that Firefox add-on since my drive replacement. Do not remember installing it, but I installed in the early days of LO 3.3.0.
