Full clean install did not fix the problem. The exception apparently occurs
in MSVCR90.DLL, the Visual C++ 2008 runtime library. The version of that
DLL is different between my 32-bit WinXP system and the 64-bit Win7 AMD
system, which might explain why it's not failing on the Win7. It looks like
LibreOffice requires at least version 9.0.30729.4148 (LibreOffice install
bundle includes an installer for it, if required), and I have version
9.0.30729.5570, because of the MS security update relating to KB246174. I
did try backing off that newer version of MSVCR90.DLL, so that LibreOffice
was using the 4148 version, but it still crashed.
Is anyone else seeing this problem? I might have to go back to 3.3.2 until
this is fixed.
