Does either OpenOffice.org or LibreOffice read and/or write to Apple's

I've never seen iWorks, but I've just started doing some work for
someone who's using it. At present, I don't think converting him to
either OO or LO is an option.

Do you happen to know what the file extension is? If he can save in the
old pre 2007 MS Office formats they will probably be read correctly. The
latter MS Office formats conversion is erratic at best. Other formats
possible are the open documents and for text files rtf formats.
