Jay, you are correct. Creating a PDF from just a portion of a document
would be an enhancement to this feature. But, printing to a PDF printer
driver like CUPS-PDF, Cute PDF, etc. will provide the controls desired.

There are two "Export to PDF" options available on menus. One is named
as shown. The other is "Export Directly to PDF."

On my system, they both behave identically, there is no PDF creation
dialog, you simply export the entire document, and get the same filename
dialog..

Is there some configuration option I may have accidentally set--and if
so, how do I "unset" it. I tried removing the "Export to PDF" option
from the File menu and then adding it back to the menu, but that did not
help. I need to export only the first sheet from a large spreadsheet,
but today, I had to print it and then scan it to a PDF =(

The "Export to PDF" is a shortcut for the other "Export" which brings up
a dialog box to allow one to use other formats for exporting as well as
the default PDF.

I am not sure if there is a way to export only part of the document
easily. If there is, hopefully someone else will advise.

I see we are neighbors, I am in Canton.

I did not think of using a PDF printer.
