Using LO on WinXP
The very useful AutoCorrect function is something I would like to
have, but I don't want to have to manually insert all the 'Replace'
and 'With' entries (Replace tab). The same goes for the list of
'Exception's (Exceptions tab).
In the ..LibreOffice 3\Basis\share\autocorr directory are the
following files (installed by LO):
acor_en-AU.dat
acor_en-GB.dat
acor_en-US.dat
acor_en-ZA.dat
(i.e., Australian English, UK English, US English, and South African
English). This corresponds to the languages in AutoCorrect which have
entries for both replacements and exceptions.
I copied the UK English and named it
acor_en-CA.dat
-- which ought to be the proper name for Canadian English. But when I
look at the AutoCorrect dialogue box, on the Replace tab, it remains
empty.
I got completely out of all LO applications (I don't use the pre-load
executable) and reopened Wrtier. I even rebooted, just to be sure.
Still empty.
Any ideas?
Remove the renamed file <acor_en-CA.dat> from <...\LibreOffice
3\Basis\share\autocorr>.
Then add <acor_en-CA.dat> to your user folder <autocorr>
(path: <...\LibreOffice\3\user\autocorr>).
That should work.
