It is a problem related to the version of the HSQLDB engine that LibO
RC3 is using compared to that used in OOo 3.1.x, and 3.2. The engine
version was changed somewhere in the OOo 3.3 development series. The
mismatch causes the file to be unable to be opened in one or the other
of LibO / OOo. Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be an easy way
around the problem at the moment. The problem has appeared before in
previous releases of OOo when Sun changed the HSQLDB engine version.
Thanks. My initial thought was exactly as you describe it. However,
the databases seem to open just fine in OOo 3.3 RC9. I'll double-check
that, though.
