Have you tried installing OpenOffice? Does it have the same problem? Have you
had a 2nd attempt at installing LibreOffice just in case the first attempt was a
quirk?
This looks like something worth reporting to bug-squad

Subject: [libreoffice-users] [LORC2] Java and libreoffice
In windows XP SP3 updated to the last trying to install LibreOffice in almost
the finish the installer is get stuck trying to aparently get any related to
the java(im already installed the latest version) - uno( the LO "scripting" wich
i dont select in the install).
