Manual Base QA LibO 3.3.2

Hi All,

My name is Lyle Cochran. I'm a webmaster and PC tech. I am also a
member of the US Marketing list [1] and a LibO CD/DVD distributor.

I am interested in doing manual base QA tests on LibO_3.3.2_Win_x86_en-US.
I think I have enough test files left over from the MsO days.
I' m currently using Win XP. If needed, I can do a dual boot with Ubuntu
or Win 7.

(Drew and Sophie. Got my hand up!)

Regards,

Hi

I am interested in doing manual base QA tests on LibO_3.3.2_Win_x86_en-US.

Sophie, i saw all discussion about the QA, i did revision and translations of all missing QA pages to pt-BR in the wiki, but i am yet lost for some things.

I understood that you tried to test the Limus as TCM (and that this tool will be discontinued by MoFo), but not is clear if is the tool that we will use by now, or if we will put all tests in the wiki.

What is the direction to follow now? For pt-br, we are right to start the QA.

Thanks in advanced,
Claudio

ps: please, see the QA/Testing/Using_testtool[1] page. Someone entered with many modifications that i really think that is not correct.

Yes, I've seen your work on the wiki, thanks for that.

We are still adpating Litmus to our needs, Rimas is doing that for us, but if anybody has skills, I'm sure he will be happy to get some help.
So until Litmus is ready, we will use the wiki to run our tests on the RC. The too the MoFo is developing to replace/enhance Litmus is not yet ready (even not developed yet if I understand well). The MoFo will keep us informed of the state of the development of this new QA tool.
But in the mean time we will use Litmus for the QA on dev/L10n/RC versions.

What is the direction to follow now? For pt-br, we are right to start

Yes, doing QA is always right  So yes, please go on with your testing on the next RC we will have. If you need help or have any question, don't hesitate to ask here.

Thanks in advanced,
Claudio

I will have a look, the instruction were only entered for Windows, but I'll have a look tomorrow. Thanks for pointing it.

Kind regards

Hi Lyle,

I'm answering using Claudio's mail because it seems I didn't get your original mail.
However, thanks a lot for volunteering to test the en-US version, you're the first one

I've noted that you're running XP for the moment. Have you already done some manual testing for other softwares?

Well, welcome aboard and thanks again for volunteering.
Kind regards
Sophie

So, i think that i need other access profile in the Litmus, Sophie. I wish open the test cases for pt-BR too, like as in de/en/fr tests, and study more this tool.

I have some guys that will help me in this task. How can i manage this efforts in Litmus? Is more or less like the pootle, where we have a "admin profile"?

We (fr or de) are not using Litmus currently, the tests you see in the tool was just to see if it fits our needs. So of course, Rimas will be able to provide you admin rights, but please don't use it with your community for the moment, there is still some more work to do on the tool before.

Yes there will be admin roles, but Rimas has not finished his work and he is not available until the end of the week. So please, wait for him, I'll be able to give you more details about the tool.
When we will be ready to use Litmus, there will be several tests to write and translate, so all the help available will be really welcome

I did not get the original either. Don't know what happened there.

No. This my first experience with software QA other than a little beta testing.
I do have some experience with brick and mortar QA Document Specialist.

I came to the LibreOffice lists to become a CD/DVD distributor and was
fascinated watching the birth process of a new software project. Decided I
needed to get involved some how. (I think it's infectious.

Great  So you may have seen that the 3.3.2 RC1 is available here:
http://www.libreoffice.org/download/pre-releases/

You can run the very light tests that are indicated here:
http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/Testing/Manual_Tests
Don't hesitate to fill the tables with your remarks.

If you find anything strange or that doesn't correspond to the expected results, please also report it here so we can confirm it under more operating systems and language.

In any case, don't hesitate to ask any question you may have.
Kind regards
Sophie
