Hi Jean,

All fine with these suggestions. The marketing team could commit to the upkeep of the pages/links and all else entailed. We could also put this up as an item for our "Marketing Easy Hacks page" for newcomers to our team.

And yes, all of the videos should be vetted by the team, and, I also believe that the videos that we are to accept should also come from contributing members who are part of the project.

There are no problems accepting a one-off video to blog/tweet about, but its another thing to start cataloguing a series of videos. These are definitely not the same. A series of videos is definitely of a more serious engagement from the video producer and the quality must match our expectations of level of quality -- the videos would also need to be uploaded to our TD/LibreOffice YouTube channel.

We could also work out a framework for video tutorials that are based on our models. BTW, the "Spoken Tutorials" project from India has a good model that we could look at. It is built for community participation with a good sense of quality expectations, but Prof Kannan from the project would be the best to discuss about this.

Anyway, if we are sending monthly reminders without the ability to back it up, then the item should not be on it. If you think it is too ambitious we could leave it off OR we could give it another try in order to get a good idea of what is out there and if we could get some contributors as video producers on board through our collection of links.

Also, I'm reluctant to link to individual items unless someone on the
team has personally checked them for accuracy and quality. Of course,
if the items are produced by active members of the community, that's
different. I would encourage that, and encourage other creators to
become members of the community.

vast majority of them.  Even the ones we do find out about are sometimes
lost as we struggle to find a place that would be relevant to put a link to
them.  We do at last have a reasonably good place to put How-Tos and such
but there are other types of non-documentation types of videos, for example
where the Vietnamese Team managed to appear on mainstream tele.

I think it would be good to build-up a library of good quality How-Tos and
such, as listed in the docs team's wish-list.  Although what part of the
challenge would be listing exactly what needs to be covered.

where serious LibreOffice items are discussed by "discussion"
contributors who have views/comments that are taken seriously -- the
discussions are focused and kept on-topic and results of these
discussions are expected to be productive -- the "Discussion" list is
NOT the same as the "Users" list!

essential for a monthly reminder?
