This is simply y.a. method for the image to find its way to your
server
(in case Tim finds it easier/faster/less complicated than ftp). I
thought, at this point, that the emphasis is on making it
available to
you, Drew, sooner than later. If it matters how you get your
image,
ignore the suggestion.
Hi Craig,

Right - thanks and sorry for being quick there.
Not a problem in the slightest, Drew. Thanks for driving this.
Ha - Tim is the one cracking the whip...*chuckling* @Tim I mean
that in
the best way..
I here the whip cracking myself. Maybe my cat is using it now instead
of his claws before I cut them back AGAIN. Well, if we can get the
typos fixed soon, then we will have a finished product before the
up-coming events. But at least we will give it our best try. ISO file
to come online soon. After the DVD is locked, then I get to do some
video editing for another project, before the lady who is the
whip-cracker gets back from a month long Florida "working vacation".

Well back to the third project now. Will do more on the DVD tomorrow,
and uploading in a few days.

Tim it's great what your doing - just do what you can, when you can, and
there are a few of us ready to work to get it finished up with you.

It would be great to find someone willing to take a crack at the sleeve
insert in the meantime - anyone?
Sorry, I haven't been paying attention. What needs to be done?

Go to the demo/testing site and help find the errors with the pages.
Then we can get the pages finished and locked down so we give the
pages to our translating teams to do their work.

So go to the site. Look at the pages. Find the errors. Then I/we can get
the editing finished. Lets get it done and on to the next stage of the
project.
Sorry to be dense. I meant "what needs to be done on the sleeve insert"?
We have the potential of having a good place of advertising and marketing information about LibreOffice and what is on the DVD that the users can get out of this package. You have seen what movie DVDs have for "chapter" and other information in their inserts. When we give out the DVD to people at events, etc., an insert can give the user as much information about why they should use the package as we can fit on the pages or pages of the insert. Also, this is where we would have the needed information for how to use the DVD, i.e. own the pages with their default browser [IE or Firefox]. Also there would be some information on how to use the disc. What is on the disc. How to browser the files/folders without using the HTML pages and installing LibreOffice directly from the disc without needing to use the browser.

I know people on this list would know how to do this, but there will be a lot of users of this disc that would not know how to use the disc and install the software. The more instructions we can give the user, the better. The more information we can provide about the disc and LibreOffice without the user needing to load it into a computer, the better.

I see someone like Drew handing out a the DVD at an event. When the person gets a few minutes, he/she would open the case, and then read the insert. Then they will have a better idea for what the DVD is all about and why LibreOffice would be a good product for them to use. Without the insert page[s], there will not have much space on the cover to give them all the information needed to convince them to use LibreOffice instead of MSO. Then there are the people who will not remember what is told to them at such events, and when they get home or work, they will need to have some documentation they can read, without using a computer, to give them the information that would help remind them why they were given the disc and why they took it form the presenter.

Paper and B&W ink/toner is cheap. But it could be a good tool to get more people to actually take the DVD out of the case and into their computers. Then, with that insert, the DVD could go to someone who was not at the event and tel that person/people what LibreOffice is all about.

We could have a handout disc without an insert, but it would be much better having it.

1] Intro to what LibreOffice is and why you should try it.
2] How to use the DVD [I had one lady ask me if it would play on her TV]
3] What is on the DVD - the Bonus Material above and beyond the install files
4] and anything else we can think of that could/should be in it.
