Now that Debian and Ubuntu have their repositories [ or at least the
next update/upgrade does ], there can be a "note" in the "your"
promotion of LibreOffice being shown in the next version and repository
for Debian and Ubuntu. I wonder if the RPM versions of Linux are
"listed" with LibreOffice in their repositories. Since I use Ubuntu
10.10, I do not use .rpm files.

.rpm's work fine on Mandriva's latest version. Haven't seen any complaints
from any other .rpm based Linux versions.

Ubuntu and Debian seem to be the one's where most people express concerns.
But, most of what I have seen is that you had to do a clean install,
although lately, some people have been installer over their last version
with success.

Agreed. I expect that once LibO moves to Debian Testing from Sid, I'll
uninstall and reinstall. Currently, the DEBs install into /opt. The update
script works fine.

We'll get the most leverage once the DEBS move to Testing.

I'll be interested to see how LIbO has been Debianized.

Cheers,
jec

Do you mean what Debian and Ubuntu does to LibreOffice to make it a part of their registry? I hope they do a good job, but I use LibreOffice's web site .deb version on my desktop and I do hope it does not get messed up when it goes to registry.
