How about british.libreoffice.org and american.libreoffice.org then?
Highly memorable and great marketing value.

My personal commitment to these would be low as I have the INGOT project to
manage and that is 24/7 at the moment. In principle I think a British
English and US English are perfectly valid. We have US English and UK
English domains on the INGOT web site - at the request of the Americans
because we tend to do everything in UK English and in education getting the
spelling and grammar locally correct is important. Plus there are cultural
differences. However, the general policy of OpenOffice.org was that native
language sites were grouped by language rather than geography so Spanish
would cover Mexico and Spain. Portuguese Brasil and Portugal etc. Of course
there is the view that the US and the UK are two countries divided by a
common language :-)

We did propose and British English project for OpenOffice.org some years
back and that was seen to be a potential fork (and with suspicion because NL
projects could raise and control their own money). Those discussions
precipitated the OpenDocument Fellowship. Really I haven't time for
organisational politics, I would rather just get on with building a business
that has the potential to both educate the masses about FOSS and generate
income for FOSS and content development and none of that is specifically
limited to LO/OOo although clearly these projects are important to FOSS in
general because of their size.
