Hi, :-)

FYI, I noticed that when I did a clean installation of the Ubuntu
10.10 beta, it was no longer installing a vast range of software by
default. In times past, popular titles like Gimp, OpenOffice, etc. got
installed by default. Now Ubuntu seems to be placing a lot of emphasis
on its Ubuntu Software Center, where you can choose from and do
one-click installations of a large number of FOSS titles.

So I suspect LibO might be there available in the list available
alongside OOo, but not more than that. I guess you might possibly be
in for a disappointment... unless this is just a policy with the beta
releases?
