I'm aware of the failings of Draw, when compared with The Gimp and
Inkscape.  Nonetheless, I think that Draw should be considered as one of
the standard tools which will be used.

Not sure if you are/were part of that thread on the discuss list, but it is still being discussed ... I think.

The general consensus so far is Draw for raster and Inkscape for vector. Some people were exploring merging Inkscape as well into LibO.
