In order to bring together the Ibero-American community, the activities
will be carried out entirely online, in the format of a side event to
the openSUSE + LibreOffice conference.
In total, the Ibero-American axis will have 12 presentations of speakers
from Portugal, Spain, Brazil, Mexico, Costa Rica, Cuba and Chile. There
will be eight presentations in Spanish and four in Portuguese.
Among the topics discussed is the development of solutions on the
platform, as in the presentations of Mauricio Baeza, "Extending
LibreOffice with Python", and Emiliano González, "Process of creating a
database - Base".
The use of LibreOffice as an educational tool is highlighted in the
conferences by Ismael Fanlo, "Learning Objects SCORM & LibreOffice", and
Gilvan Vilarim, "LibreLogo: concepts and possibilities of educational
use".
Two conferences in Portuguese will present the collaborative side of the
documentation project. Olivier Hallot will talk about the opportunities
created by Google Seasons of Doc 2020 and Felipe Viggiano will talk
about his experience in the talk "Contributing as a non-developer:
experience in the LibreOffice documentation team".
As in 2019, the 2020 edition will bring the knowledge of migrations to
LibreOffice. The spanish Rafael Espinar, Francisco Ruedas and Antonio
Caba will present "Incidents derived from teleworking with LibreOffice",
where they inform about the contingency actions carried out for the
technical support to LibreOffice during the first months of the
pandemic. José Gatica, with "Resistance to change", Carlos Parra, with
"Experiences of migration and implementation of LO in schools" and Celia
Palacios, with "Experience of Social Service in the University", will
present, respectively, the experiences of use of LibreOffice in Chile,
Cuba and Mexico.
There will also be presentations on open standards and the online
version. Xiomara Céspedes will present the talk "Open Formats", based on
the experience of the University of Costa Rica, a reference among Latin
American projects. Finally, the Portuguese Pedro Silva will talk about
his work on user experience in Collabora Online.
In the next few days, the schedules for the talks will be announced.
