This is not something that I could not do myself, but, if someone
could pull these figures together so that we could examine them.

I would like to see how much our downloads have increased over the
last 3 years and if our user mailing list has seen the same increase.
So, we would need stats of downloads and stats of users making use of
our flagship user mailing list for trouble-shooting/help.

IMO, it would be good to take a close/sober look at how accessible we
have been to our user base considering our increase in download
volume. Logically, the use of our user mailing list should also have
seen some kind of increase in use either marginally or in a major way.

Good points - and it all ties back to how we are able to engage users
to our community. The current work on the website redesign is also
supposed to provide a much easier way for users to access ways to
contribute.

Are we providing a good service to our user base? How can we make it
better?

I am not sure if this would be the place to take this up.

My hunch is that we, or rather the infra team, is working on a reliable
mechanism to study this data precisely.

Best,

Charles.

Cheers,

Marc
